The rainbow flag seen at LGBT Pride events is a symbol of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender pride. Designed by San Francisco artist Gilbert Baker in 1978, the design has since undergone several revisions, but the most common design is made up of six striped with the colours of red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet.
