Who are Cole & Son?
Cole & Son is a luxury wallpaper brand that was first founded in 1875 by John Perry. In 1941 A.P Cole purchased Perry’s company and made it into the brand we know today.
Cole & Son are known for their true craftsmanship, from the original exclusive use of hand block printing, to re-introducing flocking and pan-coating – they are innovators in the industry. As one of the first screen printing studios in Europe, Cole & Son continue to strive to find the best methods to produce the highest quality wallpapers for their customers.
Their in-house designers continue to colour and hand draw their prints to this day, selecting from their vast archives. Which means the original character and detail is never lost even in their more contemporary pieces. It is this care for quality and craft that sees Cole & Son granted a Royal warrant as a supplier of wallpaper to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Cole & Son Luxury Autumnal Wallpaper Prints To Try
The Metallic Afrika Kingdom
Autumn brings warm earthy tones to the fore, and this year is no different. We’re thinking of cosy and warming hues from soft browns to copper oranges to come into our homes.
A new take on how to bring this palette into the interior for this season is the metallic trend. As maximalism comes into play, and Y2K trends mix with 80’s we see glitz and glamour enter our decor.
So go all out with an autumnal wallpaper print like this Metallic Afrika Kingdom by Cole & Son.
This luxury and detailed design brings a stately feel into the home, with motifs of giraffes, painted African dogs and green palm trees transporting your interior to sunnier climes.
The Art Deco Alcazar Gardens
A clear trend coming through is retro design and art deco prints. While we’re seeing curved lines and soft edges with furniture and textures, we’re bringing in sharp and clean lines with prints accentuated with primary colours.
This Alcazar Gardens print by Cole & Son depicts a scene which offers this style in spades.
Designed to depict the Royal gardens in Seville, this unique design has a bright feel about it. Reflecting the Moorish architecture of the palace, this interpretation of the UNESCO heritage site will bring a real statement piece to your home.
The Geometric Alicatado
With the trend of geometric patterns being leading in the fashion and interior world for a while now, it shows no signs of stopping anytime soon.
Modern and minimalist, this season sees geometric shapes in monotone hues for a contemporary feel. We’re seeing prints that take on soft, hand brushed styles and repeating shapes over the more abstract lines of previous years.
Try this Alicatado Wallpaper for a take on the print that will lift a room and bring a retro style into your interior.
This Cole & Son print is a luxury Autumnal wallpaper print that creates a mosaic style graphic print on a wall. If you want to find how to use patterned wallpaper in your interior, read our guide here.
The Biophilic Bluebell
When it turns to Autumn, it may seem counterintuitive but bringing design that include flora and fauna can bring life into your home when the leaves are falling outside.
Biophilic design is hugely popular, to bring the natural and living into our homes. This stretches to wallpaper prints as well. Much easier than having to keep houseplants alive, print in hand drawn motifs of tonal florals in the Bluebell Wallpaper.
The darker hues and the Art Nouveau style of this wallpaper print takes the florals into the autumnal season.
The Zoological Butterflies And Dragonflies
For the new season, a zoological edge is popular with oversized and accurate prints of unusual animals such as pufferfish, crabs and dragonflies.
This Butterflies and Dragonflies wallpaper is a subtle way to bring this style into your home.
The whimsical placement and metallic edges bring movement to the print. This shade in cream and stone helps to bring light into your home for the darker months, as it helps to reflect limited daylight in your interiors.
The Opulent Angels Trumpets
While the change in season brings the move to warm, bright tones – alternatively it also sees the move to rich, jewel like tones.
While summer is the time for clean, white interiors the autumn months bring emerald greens, navy blues and aubergine purples to the fore.
Contrast dark and rich tones with pastel shades or even more metallics to help brighten the space and to avoid a room becoming overwhelmed.
We adore this Angels Trumpets wallpaper to show how to bring a dramatic take on florals for the new season.
The pastel angel trumpet florals contrast with the navy background to create a luxury autumnal wallpaper print.
